Privacy Policy

The short version. Job Alert has no accounts and no sign-up, so there is no personal profile to hold. Your saved jobs, preferences, and search history stay on your own device. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Job Alert (“the App”, “we”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Android application, published by Appers Systems.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.

  • We do not require account registration.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

2. Information we collect

a) Information you provide directly

  • Country preference (stored locally on your device)
  • Language preference (stored locally on your device)
  • Job role preferences, experience level, and work type (stored locally on your device)
  • Search history (stored locally on your device, clearable by you)
  • Saved and bookmarked jobs (stored locally on your device)

b) Information collected automatically

  • Device type, operating system version, and language
  • App usage data (screens visited, features used, session duration)
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics
  • Advertising ID (used to serve relevant ads via Google AdMob)
  • IP address (used to determine approximate region)

Automatic collection is handled by the third-party SDKs described in section 4. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any payment information.

3. How we use your information

  • To display job listings relevant to your selected country and preferences
  • To shape your daily job feed based on your role and experience settings
  • To remember saved jobs and recent searches between app sessions
  • To improve app stability and fix bugs using crash reports
  • To serve advertising, and to recognize a premium purchase so ads can be switched off
  • To analyze anonymized usage trends and improve the user experience

4. Third-party services

The App integrates the following services. Each governs its own data practices.

Google Firebase Analytics

Collects anonymized app usage and device information so we can see which features are used. Firebase Privacy Policy

Google AdMob

Serves advertisements inside the App. AdMob may use your Advertising ID and usage data to show personalized ads. You can opt out on your device under Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization, and you can reset your Advertising ID in the same place. Google Ads Privacy Policy

Google User Messaging Platform

Where required by law, the App shows Google’s consent form before personalized ads are requested, and records your choice. You can change that choice from the App’s settings or in your device ad settings.

Job listings API

Job listings are fetched from a third-party aggregation service that indexes employer career sites and job boards. Your search terms (keywords and country) are sent to that service to retrieve results. No personally identifiable information is shared with the provider, and we do not send it your Advertising ID, your saved jobs, or your search history. We do not name the provider publicly for security reasons.

Firebase Remote Config and Crashlytics

Used for remote app configuration and crash reporting so we can improve stability. No personally identifiable data is attached to crash reports.

Google Play Billing

Handles premium purchases. Payment is processed entirely by Google Play — we never see or store your card details. The App only receives whether an entitlement is active.

5. Data storage and security

Your preferences, saved jobs, and search history are stored on your device using Android’s SharedPreferences and a local Room database named jobsfinder_db. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

Analytics and crash data are transmitted to Google’s servers over encrypted HTTPS connections. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit and at rest, including certificate pinning on the App’s network calls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security for data transmitted over the internet.

6. Data retention

  • Local data (saved jobs, preferences, search history) — retained until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.
  • Firebase Analytics — retained up to 14 months under Google’s default policy.
  • Crash reports — retained for up to 90 days.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your rights and choices

  • Clear local data: Android Settings → Apps → Job Alert → Storage → Clear Data. Uninstalling the App has the same effect.
  • Opt out of personalized ads: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
  • Reset Advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
  • Request data deletion: email privacy@apperssystems.com — we respond within 30 days. Step-by-step instructions are on our Delete your data page.

9. Job listings disclaimer

Job listings displayed in the App are aggregated from a third-party service and are provided for information only. Appers Systems does not post, verify, or endorse any job listing, and makes no promise about the accuracy, completeness, or continued availability of any posting. A position may already be filled or withdrawn before the aggregator drops it.

The App opens the original posting on the employer’s own site or application portal. We are not responsible for the content of those external sites. Job Alert does not apply to jobs for you, does not submit an application or any document to an employer, and cannot track the status of an application you make yourself.

10. This website

This section covers jobalert.apperssystems.com, the website you are reading now. It is separate from the App and is covered here for completeness.

The site uses Google Analytics to measure traffic. Google Analytics on this site collects:

  • which pages were viewed, and in what order
  • an approximate region, derived from your IP address
  • device and browser type, and screen size
  • the referring site or search engine that sent you here

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to tell one visit from another. We enable IP anonymization, so your full IP address is not stored by the measurement service.

What this website analytics data is not. It is not linked to anything the App holds — there is no shared identifier between your browser and your phone, so we cannot connect a website visit to an app install, a saved job, or a search. It is not used for advertising, remarketing, or audience building, and it is not sold or shared with advertisers.

There are no accounts on this website, no contact forms, no comments, and no newsletter, so the site never asks you for an email address or any other personal detail.

How to opt out. Install Google’s official Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, enable your browser’s tracking protection, or block cookies for this domain. Nothing on this site depends on analytics — every page works identically with it blocked.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
